Steve Casey is currently the CEO of White Hat Associates LLC, a national consulting firm established to assist companies and associations operating in the public safety sector excel. In this role he has been appointed as a senior advisor to several national associations and fortune 500 companies.
Prior to creating his company, he served as the Executive Director of the Florida Sheriffs Association for 15 years and as a public safety official at the city, county and state level for 30 years prior to that.
During his distinguished career, Casey served as: Executive Director of the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Deputy Secretary of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Chief Deputy of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Director of Security for the Florida Lottery, Special Agent Supervisor with the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco, Police Officer for the City of Chipley and as a Deputy Sheriff for the Washington County (FL) Sheriff’s Office.
In addition, he served as a member of the Florida Violent Crime and Drug Control Council, the Florida Supreme Court Taskforce on Treatment Based Drug Courts, the Florida Criminal Justice and Juvenile Justice Information Council, the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission Regional Council, Rotary Club of Key West and the Key West Salvation Army Board of Directors.
He is currently a member of the National Sheriff’s Association, the Small and Rural Law Enforcement Executives Association, a Lifetime Member of the FBI National Academy, a Lifetime Member of the Florida Sheriffs Association, and Past Master of Dade Lodge #14, Free and Accepted Masons and the Scottish Rite of Florida.
Casey earned a master’s degree in management from Troy University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (163rd session), the Harvard University Senior Executive Program for State and Local Government and the Florida Criminal Justice Institute, Chief Executive Seminar #41.
He was recently elected as the 16th Honorary Sheriff in the State of Florida by the Board or Directors of the Florida Sheriffs Association.
He and his wife Diane have four children and three grandchildren. They are members of the Tallahassee Heights Methodist Church and Element 3 Church in Tallahassee, FL.
