When FLETC Training Stops, Risk Rises for Small, Local, Rural, and Tribal Law Enforcement

SRLEEA urges Congress to Restore Funding for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers. When FLETC Training Stops, Risk Rises for Small, Local, Rural, and Tribal Law Enforcement. Across the country, small, local, rural, and tribal law enforcement agencies depend on the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers for essential, mission critical training. These programs provide standardized instruction in areas such as active shooter response, use of force, tactical medical care, infrastructure security & leadership training that many smaller agencies simply cannot replicate on their own. With current disruptions in funding for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers, these courses have been cancelled, leaving officers without access to the preparation they need to stay safe, reduce liability, and effectively protect their communities. For these agencies, this is not an inconvenience, it is a direct impact on readiness, officer safety, and public safety nationwide.
