Professor Ross Wolf, Ed.D.

Dr. Ross Wolf currently serves as the Associate Provost (campus academic and operational lead) for UCF Downtown (a campus with more than 7,700 total students) and Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida. He is also Visiting Fellow with the Institute for Public Safety, Crime, and Justice at the University of Northampton (United Kingdom), and International Collaborative Partner for the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Malaysia). He has a Doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration and Education Leadership and a Master’s degree in Public Administration, and over thirty years of full-time and reserve experience as a law enforcement officer, where he has served as a member of patrol, criminal investigations, specialized patrol, and a plainclothes tactical unit with the Orange County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office, where he continues to volunteer in the position of Reserve Chief Deputy. He has published over fifty books, peer-reviewed articles, professional articles, and book chapters on campus law enforcement, police administration and management, reserve policing, police use of force, tourism policing, and international policing. Dr. Wolf serves in numerous volunteer roles with national and international policing organizations and serves as president of the Volunteer Law Enforcement Officer Alliance (VLEOA). He has been awarded the United States Presidential “Lifetime Call to Service Award,” the Presidential "Daily Point of Light" Award, the American Police Hall of Fame "J. Edgar Hoover Memorial Gold Medal for Distinguished Public Service” and the National Sheriffs' Association "Medal of Merit." In addition to his work with police agencies throughout the United States, he has worked with the police in Aruba, Dubai, Hong Kong, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, St. Lucia, and the United Kingdom.
