Chief Ret., John Comparetto

John Comparetto is a 45 year veteran of law enforcement. He joined the NYC Police Department in 1973 and retired as a Lieutenant in 1999. His last assignment from 1991 to 1999 was the N.Y.P.D. Executive Officer for the joint New York Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force. John continued his career in New Jersey where he was appointed Chief of Department for the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department. Chief Comparetto was forced to retire in 2008 due to a line of duty injury. He has continued in law enforcement as part of an Anti-Terrorism Analytical Group for a Sheriff’s Office in New York. John has a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice, a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Masters Degree in Administrative Science with a major in Terrorism and Global Security. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, 145th session, the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute for Police, the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development School and the DEA Drug Unit Commanders Academy. Chief Comparetto has lectured nationwide on Risk Management and Raid Planning for over 30 years.
