Chief Heath Scott
Heath Scott was appointed to Chief of the Haines Borough Police Department on July 18, 2016. He is a trained and experienced law enforcement officer, supervisory law enforcement administrator, public speaker, facilitator and recognized State and Federal Law Enforcement Instructor in multiple disciplines. During his 24 years of progressive law enforcement experience, Chief Scott has been involved in a broad spectrum of assignments to include Operations, Operational Support Command, Strategic Services to include IT, Communications, Physical Security Design, Risk and Vulnerability Assessment, as well as Tactical Operations. Chief Scott holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice, as well as a Masters in the field of Criminal Justice from Boston University, further he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session 246 and the Department of Homeland Security Leadership Academy Session 10. In addition he holds two (2) separate board certifications from the American Society of Industrial Security International (ASIS); the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and the Physical Security Professional (PSP) designation. Chief Scott also holds an Executive Certification in Leadership from the University of Notre Dame and is a past Board member for the Alaskan Association of Chiefs of Police.
